Nowadays, you can get wedding favor ideas practically everywhere. From a gift shop, to the department store, even from the comforts of your own home.

Personally, I would always like to start by gathering my family and closest friends and have a brainstorming session on how or what ideas we have for a party favor. Of course, there will be ideas which you would never consider yourself but at least you have a start and this will keep the brainstorm ball rolling.

There are three things that I would consider when choosing a wedding favor. First one would probably be the easiest, which is its physical attributes. How does it look and how would it fit to the whole wedding’s concept. I would suggest something that is not too ornate or flamboyant. Something that would be small enough to be hand carried. I have known a couple once who gave potted plants as a wedding favor. It was really beautiful to look at but it was quite big that you would have to hug the pot to take it home.

Second would be the price. During the big day, you will not only be commemorating the union of two hearts, you would also be buying everybody their dinner or lunch, depending on what time would the wedding be. Wedding favors are easily overlooked by the guests and usually only remembers about it until the end of the celebration. It is better to keep the cost at a minimum for wedding favors but let us not be cheap about it as well. After all, this trinket would stand as a remembrance of the wedding day itself for the rest of the days to come.

Third and last that I would consider for a wedding favor would be its ‘meaning’. What does it signify, or how does it relate to the wedded couple? The perfect wedding favor would not only look cute and beautiful but it would also tell you the story of the bride and groom. I have once attended a Chinese wedding and they gave chopsticks for wedding favors. When asked about it they said “Because you can’t use one without the other”. It was very sweet and touching and it just made the favor perfect.

Looking for the perfect wedding favor can be fun and at the same time mind-boggling. You and your partner should take a few moments to think about it. Wedding favor ideas are always close at hand and the perfect party favor may just be right in front of you and you just haven’t thought about it in that way.
